Director Institute of Public Health
Florida Muro is a public health physician and Lecturer at Kilimanjaro Christian Medical University College (KCMUCo). She holds a Doctor of Philosophy degree in diagnosis and treatment of childhood pneumonia awarded in 2017. She is currently the head of the Department of Community Health at the Institute of Public Health. Her research interest is in child health, Malaria, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and health systems.
Dr. Florida is currently a Postdoc fellow for a larger study supporting the National Action Plan for Antimicrobial Resistance Tanzania, leading a survey of antimicrobial consumption across the tier of the health systems. Dr. Florida has enjoyed the extensive collaboration with local and international collaborators and has supervised and mentored several undergraduate and postgraduate students and authored and co-authored more than 20 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
