Public health specialist with a background in nutrition currently pursuing a Ph.D. from Oslo University. Over the past ten years, she has worked and led community and facility-based research projects. She has experience in coordinating and managing research projects in nutrition, adolescent health, maternal and child health, and HIV, and mentoring students/volunteers in their service placement areas as well as project evaluation. She has competence in designing and conducting both quantitative and qualitative research projects as well as data management, analysis, and write-ups. She has skills in using Atlas. ti in managing and analyzing qualitative data.
In addition, she uses various statistical software like SPSS, STATA, WHO Anthro, and EPI DATA for quantitative data management and analysis. She has supervised and mentored more than 20 undergraduate and postgraduate students in their research projects. Melina has published several articles in international peer-reviewed journals and presented abstracts at international conferences.
